Matthew Price exhibited as part of the West Bristol Arts Trail in October 2015, alongside Kerry Jago and Rosalind J Turner.
Matthew exhibitied a series of bird paintings. Using acrylics, tissue paper, inks & other found materials to mimic the textures and vivid colours of the subjects’ plumage.
“Ever since my childhood, I’ve been captivated by the natural world around me. My love for nature started with my grandmother, who showed me animals residing in her garden as well as taking me to ponds and meadows around Bitton.
The inquisitive and observant side of me has never diminished. I hope to create pieces of work that reflect this enthusiasm as well as make viewers appreciate what lives around them”.
Matthew has chosen birds which are native to the UK. He wants to showcase a selection of the wide variety of birds living around us. This country is fortunate to host a great assortment of birds, and an upcoming exhibition will reflect this.
The paintings are textured and created using ceramic techniques learned during his time at Art College. The featured works can be viewed by clicking the link to the gallery below.
